Stamford is exceedingly safe. But assaults happen everywhere. Listen to your gut, bring your phone with you, and consider carrying pepper spray. I bought a small canister on a Velcro strap that goes around my wrist from Amazon.

I am an architect in Stamford and have worked with several fantastic landscape architects throughout the region. I don’t know your budget, but my favorite LA is Eric Rains Landscape Architecture out of South Norwalk. He has won many awards for his work, is incredibly knowledgeable, and is a very nice guy who is easy to work with. Check out his website. Wes Stout in New Cannan is also very good.

Stamford animal control and most of the awesome rescues in the area (mentioned in previous posts so won’t repeat) list their available dogs, many of which are in fosters, on Petfinder - you can sort by distance / breed / age and get all the info for the shelter or rescue.

No, you are right. It IS a safe place to run. I was just silly to not anticipate the noise alongside a major highway.
