What stations are you talking about? The only station I know that has an attendant is the Gulf on Hope St

Yeah the Gulf on hope and the one up on high ridge road (don’t remember the brand) right after the Merritt has one, but literally can’t think of another one that has an attendant?

Theres one in Shippan right by shoprite and another right by the Starbucks on W Main St. I don't get it either, always makes me uncomfortable. I'd much rather pump my own gas.

Edit: I feel old, when I was a kid all gas stations.had attendants, you had a full serve and a self serve lane. They'd check your oil and wash your windows!

You may be right and I’ve just been hitting the same handful. I guess in the last 4+ years I’ve been in CT, I just haven’t been to a station with an attendant outside of Stamford and in Stamford, there’s like 3-4 that I’ve seen. Just wondering if there’s a reason Stamford tends to have higher than average number of attendants compared to rest of CT.

I needed gas badly one night coming home and that was the only spot open I swear the fucker was going to assault me when I was filling up before he woke up. Ha I this it all the time too especially when they’re busy, and I agree the attendants look at me like I’m INSANE that I’m pumping my own gas and like closely observe me to watch that I’m doing it correctly. Like, I promise I know how to do this!

On this topic, anyone know where the cheapest gas in town is? I always go to the Citgo at 493 Glenbrook Road since it’s pretty cheap but would love to know if there’s anywhere better!

I only ever go to the Mobil on High Ridge. Never seen a station in Stamford that has an attendant.

I try and buy only Shell gas, but that station is overpriced.

I have never seen a gas station attendant in Stamford.

There is an app called GasBuddy that will pull up the best gas prices where you are. I use it all the time.
