I use 70% most often for oatmeal. It's 3 minutes, 70% covered, then stir, then 1 min 100% uncovered

Anything on a plate that usually blows up and makes a mess at 100% I quadruple the time and heat it at 20% or 30%. You don't need to cover it and it will be perfectly uniformly warm. I use 70% for soups. Again slower but more uniformly distributes heat.
