where I live he doesn't break into any houses, he knocks on the door on christmas eve and you let him in, he gives the gifts and leaves

Going down a chimney isn't breaking in either. It's unlawful entry, but not breaking and entering.

It's not breaking in if he's being invited in to deliver goods. Like, they literally leave out cookies and milk for the guy. He's not visiting homes of people who don't believe in him.

At least spell your American centric ideas properly. The "world", which in my thinking is the planet earth, not the US, does not believe in Santa Claus or have him coming to their place as the majority does not celebrate Christmas.

So he does not brEak into houses and he definitely does not do that to "over a billion" houses.

I'd actually be fascinated if a fat man who was invented by an American company would be able to use a chimney to get into our 21st century house (since we don't use a chimney as we have a heat pump)
