This is a form of bias. It worked before, therefore it will continue to work.

Haven't you seen those rope bridges in movies, similar ones exist in real life? Old doesn't always mean maintained.

I was thinking more of old roman bridges made of stone, they have basically become a part of the environment. I suppose you are right about the rope bridges, but those are rarer and usually dont last long when theyre not used.

I’ve always said they should’ve built the bridge across the oceans years ago. Would love nothing more than a nice relaxing road trip around the globe ☺️

I feel like it would be more of a bell curve, maybe?

I think the bathtub model applies here. This model is a graph in the shape of a bathtub that shows how long a product keeps working.
Some products are manufactured faulty, so break within the first shiort period. Then there is a period with no breakages, followed by a period where the product will break from "old age"
Sorry for bad English

I live in Wisconsin in usa so you can imagine getting to Spain or Asia can be quite a hassle. Just wish there was an easy route down the highway to make it easier 😮💨

That’s in no way true. I’d rather take a tractor trailer across the Golden Gate Bridge then one of those old roman stone bridges.

Agreed. The “straight line” distance from Milwaukee to China is something like 7000 miles. Assuming you could average 70mph you’d only need a minimum of 100 hours of actual drive time to reach your destination… in reality it would be many more than that… across a mostly empty expanse of ocean with no gas station, rest stops, hotels, or restaurants. Nice and easy!
