The prices on the Price Is Right have always been completely different than what you find at your local store. They pick specific odd sizes and items to make it difficult.

After they got cleaned out by a couple that figured out where the prices came from and got everything.

I would argue that the Price Is Right is the same level of difficulty or maybe even easier now with inflation as people may finally guess prices high enough to be close.

EDIT:

I haven't gone down any Price Is Right rabbit holes in my life. Not once, not ever. ;)

My logic basically boils down to with high inflation it's harder to have a sense of what the price actually is as its changes more frequently and in various amounts.

Also means its easier to go over as well if your generally closing to the number.

funny enough, in vietnam, a million means nothing, so when we made our version of that show, we made the top reward 100 million VND. Though i'd love to see the day when that too isn't enough, and we just change it to who wants to be a billionaire.

And the answer is none! Turns out a meter maid wrote you an undeserved ticket, but the process to fight it is arduous and doesn’t follow reason, so even though you did nothing wrong you’re paying the city a bunch of money!

I was watching the mid 80s Era on Pluto recently. They had a Trans Am as the prize car on Three Strikes so they had to bolt another digit to the game display because every other car before that was less than 10 grand

It’s only hard if you don’t leave the house? They use retail prices. So don’t think they use Wally World or dollar general prices! Think of Publix, Target or Harris Teeter type prices. Just like in those stores Price is Right is about the experience! Lol!
