I’d imagine Peter Parker to have environmentally friendly webs that disintegrate in a matter of days. Either way, I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say it tastes like cotton candy. Off topic? Yes, but also Spidey could use a snack from time to time.

This is actually canon
apickyreader t1_iwsqd1j wrote
It's already Canon that he formulated it to fall apart after an hour.

It biodegrades into nothing after a few hours or days. Been mentioned in stories before.

It's canon that Spider-Man's webs dissolve after a few hours.
greenappletree t1_iwsv6mu wrote
Would also be an environmental nightmare as well - imagine all the insects and birds that can get caught in his webs.

Yes, but thinking of all the snacking!

You actually did watch the Spider-Man Animated series, didn't you?

Long enough for the cops to get them down, but not too long that they become a problem

Hmm… could I train them?
RichardGHP t1_iwt0gkc wrote
It's organic so it probably decomposes naturally?
Quasigriz_ t1_iwt1q3k wrote
Probably cheaper than that time Antman decided to rip a wing off a 1/2 billion dollar Airbus A380 and hit Warmachine with it.

And it wasn't any more effective than just punching, either.

They disintegrate on their own after an hour.

Yes I did. It was one of my favorites growing up. I'm still upset that it got cancelled before Peter could find MJ.
Gnemlock t1_iwturz9 wrote
Not sure how they do it these days, but Tobey McGuire Spider-Man was actually the introduction of natural Web shooters. So there was no canon

I remember a long time ago in the comic that they were designed to disintegrate after 15 minutes.

Ain't that still how it works...although now its after a couple hours

Arguably, in the game he has webs holding his old school bags and items for near a decade, so you can assume they don't, in the game at least.

Please learn more about Spider-Man before posting. I mean damn. This is Spider-Man we're talking about. If you'd chosen some obscure indie character no one knew much about, then you'd have had a chance.

How rich would Spidey be if he just sold the web fluid he created???
ChainSword20000 t1_iwus39x wrote
Well, if he made one that can decompose naturally, couldn't he make one that needed a special formula to decompose?
ShadyMyLady t1_iwuwaf3 wrote
They should collect it for medical use as bandages. Spider webs help with clotting and have antiseptic and antifungal properties. It could save all those injured as collateral damage.

He had a problem with that in the comics.
He needed to make money and was looking to sell his web formula, but no-one wanted to buy it since "what's the point in re-inventing the post-it note?"
He admitted that the web formula was created by accident before he got his powers and was a "problem looking for a solution".
HippySheepherder1979 t1_iwvcmra wrote
Tell that to Damage Control. They make a mint cleaning all that stuff up.
MasterBot98 t1_iwvh13r wrote

Damn, Spidey's webs cause insects and birds to dissolve on their own, too? He is just WAY too OP.
Belteshazzar98 t1_iww5xtq wrote
In the comics he had a couple different formulas, including one for long term that didn't dissolve on it's own, but his swinging stuff will dissolve in an hour.

His webbing disintegrates after a certain amount of time. They've discussed this fact in the comics and in the various shows and movies.
NewVenari t1_iwx9jm3 wrote
I don't get how he was able to do that. Technically he should float away when he gets that big. The reason he's so strong when he's tiny is because the same atoms are just condensed. He should be weak and light when he's big. No way somebody could have just had a tank in their pocket. Should have weighed TONNES.
MasterBot98 t1_iwxj9k4 wrote
Spidey is beyond op when he fights at full strength. For example comic spidey would just oneshot with a punch every minion in Tanos'es army in the film, and no way he wouldnt just rip off his arm when they tried talking off the gauntlet IMO.
