Yep. As a photographer the first thing I learned is the sun is a very small, harsh light source because of its distance.

The extra sun would probably tend to fill in your existing shadow. A shadow is where light doesn't fall, so more suns could reduce shadow

What should happen is that you indeed cast two shadows, but both are relatively weak. Only where they coincide is really dark. Only because the suns are very close, they coincide over most of your shadow. So basically what really happens is that the edge of your shadow β more so the higher up the things casting the shadows are β becomes a little fuzzy.
Source: try putting two lightbulbs fairly close together and look at your shadow.

I'll admit I just assume this so i could be way off but wouldn't the added light potentially have someone give off less of a shadow depending on the angles?

Star Trek tried the whole "two suns, two shadows" thing on an episode of Voyager.
It looked like refried ass. Made it even more obvious than usual that it was shot on a sound stage.

I mean the two suns are close together in tatooine's sky. if the planet orbited one star while the other orbited further out, and they could appear on opposite sides of the sky, that would be a different story.

I wrote a lighting tool that renders lightmaps for videogames. OP is right, if you had two suns you would definitely have two shadows. It would be obvious particularly for tall things like buildings or towers.

Since they're so close together they more or less work like one. They're a fair distance away from the planet they're not field lights.

If you have a light outside, itβs not gonna make a large second shadow

because the two suns are emitting the light from a similar angle, and one is the dominant light source.
