This is not true. Other species such as elephants, dolphins, and chimpanzees are known to have emotional responses to the death of other animals, including members of their own species. In some cases, they have even been observed to try and help the deceased animal..

True True, but I don't mean that they don't have the basic sympathy to be sad when a member of another species dies

I mean that we are the only spices who can comprehend as well as check if another spices goes completely extinct and thereby can mourn for the loss of not only a individual, but the lost potential of a spices as a whole

Am I making myself clear enough or should I explain it differently

Then I agree with you! Humans are also the only species that can recognize how their actions can contribute to the extinction of another species. Humans are the only species that can take steps to prevent a species from going extinct, and can use their knowledge and power to create a better future for all species.
