I love "Whole Lotta Love" by Led Zeppelin, but I hate hearing the part where it sounds like he's having an orgasm into the mic.

Oh no there definitely are. For instance in rock, I can’t tolerate “screamo” stuff so when a song is 97% lyrics and like a line or two of screamo, yeah, I hate that small part of it.

Would that count the "Yeah!" in Won't Get Fooled Again? Or are you saying more like Given Up by Linkin Park with the last "misery"?

This at 2:38 immediately comes to mind. The singing is fine but the screaming is off-putting. I have no problems with Linkin Park. If you're talking about The Who, then definitely not along the lines I'm talking about.

Ok, just wanted your opinion. Among my musically-inclined friends, it's roughly 50/50 as far as whether the "Yeah!" in Won't Get Fooled Again counts as an early iteration of "screamo".

This is a friendly reminder to read our rules.

Remember, /r/Showerthoughts is for showerthoughts, not "thoughts had in the shower!"

The ending chord of Hurt by Nine Inch Nails

The high-pitched chirp throughout Breaking the Habit by Linkin Park (when I was in high school, I would listen to the radio at a very low volume while trying to fall asleep, and if that song came on, it would freak me out. Then I'd realize it was that song, grumble, and start trying to fall asleep again)
