life isn't short it's the longest thing you'll consciously do.
Existence is brief then we're recycled.

They are bored because they don't have the time/money to do what they want to do.
I'd love to devote my life to doing all kinds of art and traveling. But fuck me, I need money to survive.
Life is short. There is so much I want to do. But I need to be bored at work if I need to survive.

Exact!! I know like 5-10 people that would do the job they are doing if they didnt have to work at all and thats because I am in academic.
In corporate I know ZERO person who would do their job if they didnt have to work.
Academic is the best thing in the world, if I had to go back to corporate, I would wanna die and hate my Life every single day, like I did when I was i. Corporate.
I make less money that I used to, but now I am excited about what I do, cause it MATTERS!

It's very relieving to hear that there exist people (even in a very specific field) who find their work enjoyable and impactful.

As a consultant I worked with some non profit and these people are just pure gold. They get paid less than in the private sector and yet give their heart in the job cause they have amazing impact on the society and actually help people.
Healthcare and education are other fields I can think of. Crappy conditions and yet dedicated people giving their all to help.
Corporate world…. Thats another story…. It’s like a soul sucking matrix.
