I think he means that the first time in history that someone recorded voices and played them back, nobody would have ever heard themselves speaking from a recording before that, so they wouldn't have expected it and may have been very confused about what was going on.

The people upvoting this sh*te and downvoting the reply need to loosen their egos. The point is that most people have never heard of the phenomenon before they make a recording of themselves and then they discover it. Everyone's confused when they first hear a recording of themselves.

So like I said everyone is confused when they first hear their voice before learning that it sounds off. And it’s a pretty simple explanation as to why that is. I’m sure the inventor of a recording device would be smart enough to figure that out.
