That's why is said can. Physically they CAN live 17, they get hunted and killed in the wild, but there's been studies to show their physical average max lifespan is about 17.

while there have been unique outliers, you'd be hard pressed to get one past 12 in the safety of captivity.
if you're going down that road, why don't you lead with the premise that humans live to 115?
