This technically means, there is always one emotion that will be unused, every emotion lasts until the next one comes.

Uh… speak for yourself. I’d love to have only 1 or two emotions to deal with at any given time 😒

You've never been sad that something has happened while mad about how it happened, all while being exhausted?
I'm not criticizing you there, I'm happy for you for not having had to experience that.
Ask anyone that's ever been through a divorce and they'll tell you differently
Not true at all.
Being tired isn't an emotion, it's an energy level. And you can experience mad and sad at the same time.
So therefore you can be mad and sad, while also being tired.

Lots of things fit the bill, even for these specific 3 emotional states.
It's almost like some people haven't gotten a call that their cousin is dead, sad, because he was being unsafe around a bonfire and something exploded, mad, all while you have 2 kids under 5 and work 10 hour shifts, tired.
I mean, that's oddly specific. But yea, it fits

Real life experiences are the best examples.
