Just as a point, tires and brakes should really be the things you don't go too cheap on. That's literally the things keeping you safe.

There's a difference between being cheap by saving $20-30 per tire on a brand name like Goodyear or Michelin, and being cheap by buying an inexpensive no-name Chinese tire that is probably safe but will wear out in six months and may suck in the snow or rain.

I concur, you should try to get the best deal but as good of a quality of tire as you can.

Anything that keeps you off the ground (tires, shoes, mattresses) should not be cheaped out on.

Walmart Super Center in Coventry. You can buy them online and set up an appointment to have them installed. Yes, everyone hates Walmart but their prices are hard to beat.

I second this. Getting them online and shipped to the store is a great deal.

Cheaper than town fair tire?

The mounting and balancing is cheaper. I am not a tire expert to weigh in on tire prices for every application but I'm guessing, probably.

I'll never go back to Town Fair Tire. At the very least, not the one in North Providence. I had a tire replaced there, they took all day, and then the TPM sensor didn't work. Took it back, they put a new sensor in (also took forever), still no TPM readings. Took it back a 3rd time, they replaced all of the TPM sensors (again, took forever), now none of the 4 tires get TPM readings. That place is a joke.

Walmart is good, just make sure the tires you order exactly match the specs listed in the door panel of the vehicle (including speed rating) or they will not install them there.

If you're in a crunch and want some good used tires, go to Richmond Diesel and Tire in Exeter. Lot's of really good tires there for great prices.

Once I bought the cheapest tires I could find. It was a Saturday; I had a road trip to Virginia on Sunday. The tires were horribly installed and way off balance; an 8-10 hour trip turned into a 14 hour trip with a vibrating car the whole way. You get what you pay for.

BJ’s. They sell a store brand that is a rebadged big name brand and will install them for a low price too.

Walmart, covenrty sells a low cost goodyear tire. Only walmart sells it. Call the store, get the auto department and they tell you how.

I just hope the Mavis acquisition of them doesn’t change things. Melvins has always been fair to deal with.

stosyfir t1_j5oepho wrote

So far they have the same guys running the local shops - as long as they don't lose the people I think it'll be fine - they've always been fair about pretty much everything (not just tires).

dishwashersafe t1_j5laubx wrote

I cross shop every time and every time tirerack.com has been the cheapest.

Also I hope you mean cheapest for a specific tire model, not cheapest brand. Plenty of people here have said it already, but tires are arguably the most important part of your car. This is NOT the place to be cheap.

unculturedwalnut t1_j5n51oi wrote

I second tirerack.com. Great experience ordering through them, and it was cheaper than other places I had looked at. I was also looking for a specific tire though.

Melvin’s tire pros in North Kingstown has good prices. You can price out all their tires for your exact vehicle on their website and know your all in price, and book an appointment, without even going there.

BTS is awesome. They give you a good warranty and free tire rotations. Their price beat out tirerack.com when I priced them out.

Been using the guys for 20 years for both of our cars. Only good things to say. Great process and fast service. I've used their road hard warranty multiple times and it was an extremely simple process.

I've been getting my tires 🛞 and service done in Seekonk Massachusetts at New England Tire. The people who work there are great, honest, hard working and don't try to sell you stuff you don't need. I've been comfortable sending my Girlfriend and her Daughter there by themselves and get the same results, honesty. Plus if you get a front end alignment, which you usually need if buying four tires, you get the forth tire free. They also have a great road hazard warranty for only twenty bucks per tire

P.s. lol 😆 for example I got four Goodyear Assurance Tires, a four wheel alignment, road hazard warranty on all four tires for under eight hundred dollars
