My mom’s been in low spirits recently. Hoping to take her and our relative out to a place where we can play some games and relax.
And then get dinner at some cozy place.

Could go to R1 Indoor Karting close by in Lincoln?
They have go karts, axe throwing, darts, an arcade and some other things too
Afterwards head back to Smithfield to Laura's Bar and Grill or Blackies
Two recommendations that don't quite fit but work for me: Wright's Dairy in North Smithfield for their incredible treats; go to Narragansett and hang out by the sea wall, or go to the secret rocks to hang out by the ocean. I live far away now, but Gansett is a little paradise that always cheered me up. It's worth the drive to be able to hang out by the ocean and relax
Second this. Axe throwing may not sound like your thing, but we did it for a team holiday party and it was really fun and a great way to burn off some stress.
Depending on your mom's age, check out the senior center if there are any activities going on that she would be interested in, ditto the libraries in the town. You can always get some books, puzzles, games and movies to check out and take home.
Make a reservation for afternoon tea at Val's English Tea and Pie shop.
Take a hike/walk on an unseasonably warm winter afternoon.
Go antiquing at Stillwater Antiques or keep driving up 44 and check out the many antique shops in Chepachet Village.

Agreed. Axe throwing is a lot of fun and stress relieving. Laura's Bar and Grill or Ichiraku ramen are both good. Or get a dirty pickle at Terazza

Blackie’s in Smithfield is a great dinner spot. Something for everyone and awesome dietary restriction options if needed
What about a little hike at the Audobon or Stillwater Scenic Trail? Both are pretty mild trails and it’s supposed to be sunny this weekend.
Go to a highschool sporting event. There's lots of hockey games in general at the ice rink. Or Bryant. If your into that kind of games.
I live fairly close to Wright's Dairy Farm. Can not praise that place enough.

Not Smithfield but in providence there you can find Free Play Arcade and Malted Barley which has food and some bar games as well
