I would definitely try butler hospital. Ive experiences there and while its never really that pleasant to be in the hospital, they were very friendly and accepting. Best of luck to you.
Thankyou! I had forgotten Brown was Connected to Butler
Thankyou! Do you know if they roomed trans people together or anything?
If i recall correctly, they do room people with members of the same gender, really just depends on whats available when you go. Most likely they’ll try their best to keep you within your age group and gender, basically if you identify as a woman they’ll more likely than not want to put you with other women ect. Im not sure if there’s something more specific for trans individuals though, but most people at these places are happy to answer any of your questions so dont be afraid to ask :)
I learned about this on a podcast put out by blue cross and had a lot of resources. I think it’s called The Rhode Ahead. These are all healthcare facilities that have earned safe zone status for LGBTQ+ patients. Butler is there.

The Rhode to Health: A Podcast from Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island https://open.spotify.com/episode/3FH4AwbEobbrdjUS1Qp9mx
Call Open Door Health- they are a gender affirming health center, they do not offer mental health services but can provide referrals to trans-friendly providers.
Butler is AMAZING!!!! I went just for a week and I have never felt more understood and accepted. They help anyone no matter your gender, race, or sexuality. It's amazing! They are so kind!
Your username reminds me of Young Justice Robin. Thus your opinion holds more weight for me. Kidding! but seriously, you just left? I'm kinda worried about... talking to people about my issues when they aren't trans/GD? I'm afraid I'll get some CIS nonsense and just shut people out.
My name actually DOES come from young justice! Lmaoooo nobody has ever realized that! 😂 But nah, I think you will be alright. I'm not trans but there were plenty of people there that were. Whenever you are in a new group they have you say your name and pronouns so everybody can respect them and make sure you feel safe and included. I was honestly shocked but happy about that.
Thanks. I think I'm feeling just the right amount of whelmed for this now. Gonna talk to my therapist in the afternoon. (You won't believe this but I think they're even better than Canary!)
Completely off topic: Is the stuff after the OG series good? Maybe I'll get back into it after my vacation if so xD
All I can say is DO not go to fuller hospital. Butler is phenomenal.
Honestly I couldn't keep going after they changed so much from the og stuff 😭 Like when they all got older it just wasn't the same for me. I plan to go back and watch it all eventually, even the newer stuff. It's so astrous to meet somebody who likes them just as much though! :D We should totally talk about this sometime haha
I'm not sure if they have anybody who works in an in-patient unit, but Lifespan has an Adult Gender and Sexuality psych department. If anything, they may be able to give you a reference to a good in-person unit which would be friendly, but would also be valuable for ongoing care after the in-patient experience. I had great experience with one of their therapists regarding LGBT/polyamory/kink related issues.

I hope you find good support and would suggest Butler as the most reputable in the state. With it’s connection to Brown University as a teaching hospital, I would think it does a good job of evolving to meet current needs.
Best of luck to you. It’s healthy to seek support.
