How much distance do you want to cover. I mean the pedestrian bridge is well lit and nice at night / but are you looking for something more nature/y? I mean I wouldn’t walk solo myself in the woods at night anywhere tbh…..

Something more nature-y is ideal. I’d be with my husband so I won’t be alone, we just want to be able to see lol. We were walking on the bike path in Lincoln when it was still light out at 5 but even with flashlights it’s way too dark there now.

RIC is well lit and there are usually people out walking dogs or students hanging around. You can cover a solid distance if you do a few laps around campus.

Blackstone Boulevard, 3.5 miles out and back. It’s mostly lit, or at least well traveled, and clear from cars/traffic as a median/boulevard style walking path, but still has lots of parking since you’re driving from work.

You could check the track at Providence College, they have a history of allowing neighbors to use it, outside of events.

Benefit St is nice, nice side streets. Trees, old houses and mansions, often with nice landscaping. I always felt safe.

Garden Center in Cranston is well lit. But it is basically a giant parking lot.

The east bay bike path is not lit itself but the light coming from the port across the bay keeps it from being pitch black.

But as others have suggested you are probably better off doing urban evening hikes for the winter. You can do a nice loop say starting near the Narragansett Brewery looping India point over the pedestrian bridge then back over the river at college st head up to brook over college hill or down benefit wickenden whatever. Grab a beer at the end.

Or do college hill with switchbacks so like start at Olney walk down benefit, up meeting then back across Pratt to Halsey then congdon stop at the park loop bacl down prospect back to Olney and the car. Things like that.

You can do Blackstone as a core and then do loops around the freeman plat to see other things, or head down to river dr. Things like this to add variety. When I used to run this was my winter strategy. Start at Blackstone and pick different loops to keep interest. Etc.
