Radiation in dirt

Is it my imagination or did someone use their mini-handheld geiger counter on a chunk of roadside dirt along a highway and mention it here in this sub in the last month or so? If so, any connection to the recent $1.5mil settlement? Did I dream this? Searching the posts but I don’t see it.

Dunno. But Geiger counters reacting soil can happen naturally. Hard to say without info

Radon is a radioactive gas that leeches from the ground here, so I'm not surprised

They brought contaminated dirt to the 6/10 construction site and used it as fill. That's what the 1.5m fine is for. They also had to remove all of the contaminated fill.
