Was driving south towards Coventry this morning, near the big water tower, and saw a bunch paratroopers coming down. I'm guessing training from the base near by? Anyone know what's up with that?

Thank god the new exit number signs aren't in kilometers. They'll all run out of fuel (maple syrup) before they can reach any strategic positions.

Wouldn't the Canucks be better off overtaking Woonsocket first and gain sympathizers?

Probably some dudes from the 1/143rd ABN or the 56th Troop Command out of Camp Fogarty.

They train in the sand dunes off of Hopkins Hill. It's pretty common to see them.

Are you sure they weren’t ski divers?

There is only one airborne unit in RI to my knowledge (the 1/126th). Not sure they’d be doing exercises on a random Friday.

126th isn't an airborne unit, they're aviation. 143rd and 56TH Troop Command are the airborne units here.

I saw them too. They jumped from a helicopter and almost immediately pulled a chute. This doesn't feel sky divery to me.

That's typically the way things go during Leapfest down at URI.
