So I got a drivers license during which I registered to vote. Then they sent me a letter saying I'm registered to a political party.

I see signs saying to vote. Like- how do I do that?

Also, is there a website saying when the voting thing opens. Also where is the voting thing? Do they send me something? I have no clue how this works.

Entirely depends on where you are. I’d recommend you either visit or call your town hall to get instructions. You also may be able to vote early at your town hall.

All the details are available from the Secretary of State's website at https://vote.sos.ri.gov/

It'll tell you where your polling place is, and you can look at a sample ballot there as well, so you'll know what to do. You may receive a postcard with polling place information as well as a booklet with details about the candidates from the League of Women Voters.

Make sure you do some research before voting so you can pick candidates and vote on ballot questions that align with where you want to see the area/state/country to go. No candidate is perfect, but you do have a say in the matter, and this is your opportunity.

I hope this helps!

No offense but this post is a clear example as to why Civics needs to be a mandatory class in high school 🙄

You don't need to specialize in civics to have a basic understand of your duties and responsibility as a citizen. Those are things everyone should have a basic idea of.

Like, specializing in civics would mean a political analysis, or political scientist or something of that vein. Obviously, not everyone needs to have that level of knowledge. But everyone should have the basics. They should know how to vote. They should know their rights. Basic-ass stuff.
