Any body of water near the bay (like colt state park) if you lift up a rock you may be able to see a ton of Asian rock crabs. They’re an invasive species and overpopulated. We like to use them for fishing bait.
Other than that, you can also bring a crab trap and put raw chicken in it. You’d be able to find some blue crabs and lady crabs - maybe even some spider crabs try to eat it.
wait til next summer when i go to a beach and just hang out near my fucking feet
nah not to eat they’re just cool to look at!!
oo cool thanks!!
Oh! So you don't want to catch/eat them and just want to see something cool? Park at the Long Point Boat Ramp in Wickford, then walk along the coast to the left/west. Thousands and thousands of little sand crabs that will be out sunning themselves or whatever, but scurry into their holes when you get within 10 feet or so. Walking/riding through there feels like Moses parting the Red Sea. I have no idea how much longer they'll be around...I know nothing, but I don't imagine they hang out all winter...?
What other feet do you have?
Tidal pools are your friend, the base of the beavertail lighthouse has a ton along with fogland beach. Basically any beach with rocks will have them hiding underneath.
I was kayaking in upper pond by Gilbert Stuart and there were a lot of young blues in the water there

Fogland was our favorite but it's been years

If you are looking to catch some blue crabs to eat, the leaf dump on 114 in Barrington is a good spot. At least it was. It's been awhile since I've gone
