This is a project I've had on my mind for a couple years and finally went for it.
Near the Milky Way core region is the Rho Ophiuchi cloud complex, an interstellar region containing dark nebulae among other types. It's my favorite part of our galaxy to photograph, and one of the nearest star-forming regions to our solar system.
The series of images required to produce this scene took about two hours this morning, between 2:30 and 4:30am, next to Narrow River in Narragansett.
Camera: Fujifilm GFX 100s with GF 110mm lens. Sky: 15 light frames of 2 minutes each, ISO 400, f2. Tracked and stacked with 15 darks and 23 flat frames. Foreground: Single shot of two minutes, ISO 400, f2. Blended in Photoshop.
