Not tulips for me, but crocuses and daffodils. Given the mild weather we’ve had, I’m not surprised but yeah…it’s a bit concerning 🙃

Crocuses started coming up outside the church where I work. Sucks bc they’re pretty much guaranteed to be killed in the next 4 weeks.

Yeah, I might cover mine. I love tulips too much to see them die.

Tulip foliage comes up before the last frost anyway, so there is really no need to cover them.

Crocus should be fine. Late winter is a common time for them to come up.

“Worried your flower bulbs are already popping up? Here's what to know”

>If you've been keeping a close watch on your gardens, you might have noticed some early shoots of green poking out of the earth, or even your first flowers of 2023 — likely a snowdrop or a crocus — already blooming.

>And it might have you worried that the cold snap will kill them or that it's a bad sign for climate change, as Rhode Island just recorded its third-warmest January on record.

>But, according to master gardener Alan Newton, with the URI Cooperative Extension, you don't need to worry about your spring bulbs.

The trees have buds on them already

Our azaleas look like they’re budding too. In a couple more years my tropical house plants might be able to winter outside 😳

I took a picture of crocus blooming in my yard on January 25th 😳 it’s been a very mild winter. My friend has tulips starting to break the soil, and same for the early daffodils at my work.

Snowdrops were blooming a month+ ago in Providence! Earliest I've ever seen.

My next door neighbor's daffodils have visible buds formed, been that way for two weeks.

Another neighbor has crocuses in full bloom, at least a dozen. Those all popped just this week.

All are the earliest I've seen in my 30+ years here.

I’m in South County and hellebores are budding. I haven’t seen tulips yet, thank god. I planted 300+ and 100+ alliums and they’re still below the soil.

I hope not, I won’t be surprised since it seems we’re in fools spring now, but the cold hurts my face.
