Very racist and super small town ignorant feel. It’s riddled with Moms for Liberty and insane parents.

Racism pertaining to schools. We're Latinos so we stand out in Eastern PA sometimes lol.

I live in Pleasant Valley S.D. but not in Brodheadsville/Chestnuthill Twp. itself.

I've lived in the Lehigh Valley and Bucks County before moving here so my comparisons are in relation to those places.

If you want a house of your own in a somewhat suburban/country area and want to be left alone doing your own thing in an area without much sense of community then this place is for you. Houses here are certainly more affordable than comparable homes in places further south and east.

But school real estate taxes are high here and go up every year. The school board is kind of goofy and the administration is uninspiring from what I hear.

Also you're driving a decent way to get anywhere significant and in the winter the local Monroe County PennDOT maintenance district does a truly crappy job of even clearing major roads like 209.

But overall, I like the area because I have a much nicer house here than most other places I could've lived instead. And since I don't look for much in the way of community resources/municipal services, the area works for me

However try to avoid Kunkletown itself and areas just south and east from there though. That area nearer the mountain is, um, interesting, lol.

Good luck!

That's the perfect response. Thank you so much. I grew up in Bangor. So I'm fine and used to the small town feel and distance from things.

I live close by. Brodheadsville isn't bad, but i think neighboring Saylorsburg is even better as far as seclusion but you still have access to shopping and things in Brodheadsville. I've been here 25 years and my thoughts are this.

There is a mix of people here and many transplants from NY, NJ and Philadelphia and then you have the summer homes. That is a little more of the diverse crown. Now the locals are another thing. They are let's say, not exactly educated, and have a poor grasp on what is happening in the world and ignorant. Racism is a part of their life because of their ignorance and not being exposed to different cultures. I saw the racism first hand because i am caucasian and my then wife was Jamaican and was privy to it.

The scenery around the area is beautiful if you are into nature. Home prices are OK. The reason I mentioned Saylorsburg is that a good portion of it is nearer to Stroudsburg which is a different population all together.

Go spend time there and see what it’s like. Base it on your opinion, not someone else.

Pleasant valley was not a great school. But broadheadsville itself is pretty quiet. Lots of roadwork right now because of the circle going in. Usually have to drive to Stroudsburg Leighton or Easton if you want the big name stores so a car is pretty much a must. The people are still nicer there than in Easton. It's pretty boring. A lot of people just end up drinking a lot from boredom.
