We’re currently in New England and I have an opportunity for a job change to the Easton area. We’ve got family ties to Philly and NJ so this would work for us both. Kids are all grown up and married so schools aren’t a big consideration. What’s the real estate market like? Our agent say’s our house will sell quick because it’s a nice block.
Best parts of Easton suburbs? North, South? East or West? Our hobbies are walking the dog, bicycling, and (her) gardening with the occasional motorcycle ride. Thanks in advance for any suggestions or tips!

Find a place in Wilson. Eat lots of Jimmy's hotdogs.

Easton area is pretty big. Stay out of the west ward. Where is the house located? There are some good resturants down town. It can get a little sketchy at night. Be prepared for awful traffic. Downtown is shut down to thru traffic a lot from spring to fall for festivals on weekends.

We’re looking at a bunch of houses tomorrow mostly north and west of Easton city limits

You'll be in Forks Township to the north which has mostly newer developments or Palmer Township to the west which contains most of Easton's somewhat older suburbs.

If you go further north you'll be in Lower Mount Bethel Township which is more rural.

I would check with local municipalities to see which ones fit your lifestyle and needs. The rules vary greatly between them.

NJ in the area where I-78 comes into PA is pretty nice but the real estate taxes are significantly higher than they are in PA. Emmaus is a decent area, imho.

Williams Township/Durham Township area (in the south) or Raubsville/Riegelsville. Right next to the Delaware River is a nice walking/bicycling path, along the canal. It is not paved, but well-maintained. That portion goes from Easton to Morrisville (across from Trenton). There's another portion along the Lehigh River from Easton and eventually will connect to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre areas.

Try the Nazareth area/ Bushkill township. Just 10 miles away from Easton. Beautiful area. Do yourself a favor and check it out. Try to acquire their local paper, called the Key. Has lots of ads which can steer to where you are able to check it out for more info. Good luck wherever you go!!
