The right doesn't care about what someone does when it comes to using an office to enrich oneself, what someone says, or what they do on their own time. They only care about whether a candidate will vote for what they want regardless of any other inputs. Look at "George Santos," Trump, or Walker as examples

In contrast, the left cares about what office holders do and have done regardless of what they do in office. The left will want to remove someone from office for something that happened decades ago or for appearing improper in any way. Franken and Hill are good examples.

What I'm saying is the right won't defend him because they don't see anything he did as an issue until it confronts their identity.
