Is that gravy on the pork, or apple butter or something?
newenglandcoyote OP t1_j2rdcbt wrote
Gravy, the pork is made in a crockpot and the gravy is made right in the pot with it

The pork is cooked separately from the kraut?

Love that!!

It is cooked with the pork! The gravy is very thick and she separates it out, in case some don’t want any

So the gravy is kraut flavored?

It does not. And I may be misunderstanding how she explained it to me. Anyways it’s all just delicious

Does the pork have a sweet taste to it?

My grandparents had those exact same plates. Apparently they were fairly common in the 70s, but whenever I see that design it reminds me of them and makes my heart a little warmer. Thanks for that, and happy new year!
