He is from the West End area of Monroe County. He graduated (4 years below me and worked security at the HS after he graduated) from Pleasant Valley High School. Reports say he was studying for his PhD in Criminology from a college less than 10 miles away from the University of Idaho.

In addition to what the other posters said, he finished his masters in criminology at DeSales University (in the Lehigh Valley) earlier this year.
