I’m not sure if this would be the right sub but living in PA I was wondering if there is a good way to track the price of heating oil.

This seems pretty good thank you!
Thank you soooooo, so much for this!
Thank you
i just check my few local places, when i need to buy, the prices are all over atm its crazy, just got 175 gallons for 699.83 delivered in 17972
Curious, How long is that lasting you?
i will get through the winter, till summer, but also got a electric heater, and 3 pc's i mine crypto with so that helps alot

Just checked, that is exactly the price I would pay where I am (rural Montgomery Co.) if I needed to get our 200 gallon tank filled today
We had to get it a few months ago but paid about $4.50/gal then
Bought a coal stove a couple years ago. Heats the whole house pretty affordably because it doesn’t do much to the electric bill
We had a coal stove when I was growing up. Hopping out of the shower and standing in front of that things was awesome. Dealing with the ash was a pain in the ass though.
But kept the driveway clear all winter!!
I would love to convert to a coal or wood burner stove, I’ve actually never seen a modern coal stove. UGI is taking over and I refuse to sell out to natural gas.
I have a natural gas heater and water heater. Neither is new or efficient. I pay maybe 50 a month during the winter for natural gas and I keep it at 74 since the house is 75 years old and drafty.
Natural gas ain't bad

Every year I get the company I got the stove from to clean out the stove and make sure it’s running okay. Coal has gone up a bit this year but it was still about $620 for a ton and a half of coal and that will last me the whole winter. So I couldn’t imagine paying for electric heat to the UGI bastards
Does your place have a coal cellar?
I have a big wooden coal keeper out near my shed I bought off Facebook marketplace for like $60. It has a troff thing that I open into a bucket and carry it into a house. Probably fill up the stove every 3 days while it’s this cold
OK, where I grew up, many people used coal and had that separate walled off space near the coal furnace to store coal.
No I don’t mind keeping it outside gives me a little exercise bringing the coal in
I bought a mini split heat pump because I could DIY it after my chimney for my oil boiler gave out. (Whole wall behind it rotted out.) Turned out to be a blessing in disguise… I’d have gone absolutely broke paying for oil this winter.
I have been supplementing with a wood stove for the super cold nights.
How did you do mini split with a radiator/water system. Did you go to forced air?
I completely redid it without reusing the hydronic baseboard. https://www.alpinehomeair.com/category/air-conditioning-cooling/ductless-mini-splits/four-zone-mini-split-systems
About $5k total including the tech coming out to charge it with refrigerant.
All the baseboard was rusted to heck and it’s nice to have the a/c now too. There are hot water heat pump options but i’d imagine they’re way harder to DIY. And much more expensive. https://www.spacepak.com/solstice-air-to-water-heat-pumps

Just received an oil delivery on Monday. Cost $3.699 per gallon.
Do you mind if I ask from who? I usually use Tolinos but haven't checked prices in awhile and will need oil by the new year.
Chat?
DM?
Yes
Get a smart oil meter prices there are always lower, then what you do is call company directly and they will give you those prices. 3.59 for today!
I never even knew this existed thank you!
Yeah and you can see how much you have left from your phone. See if they have any special prices for xmas, i got mine in black Friday last year
I used to use fuelwonk but that site has become cancerous to use. Would like to find an alternative. Many places are so secretive about their pricing.
Just paid 3.99/gal for 100 gallons in Harrisburg area. Price is +/- .20c in this area depending on supplier.
I check cashheatingoil
Just saw it's 3.99 so I'm filling up
I just got heating oil at 3.61 a gallon. I ended up getting just shy of 458 gallons
Paid $3.60 northumberland
Beat me by a penny. But really good prices for now huh
I’m a member of bradigans (pittsburgh fuel club) who sends our weekly prices
