People don’t believe that Bigfoot lives in PA, but bring up Mountain Lions and then you’ll get a bunch of people that actually believe that Mountain Lions still exist here.

I saw one! It was the size of a housecat and it had stripes like a housecat and it sleeps in my bed at night like a housecat but I know it was a mountain lion in my heart of hearts!

Then I did too! He was a fat orange bastard named Seamus and he broke a bunch of my Christmas ornaments.

Because no matter what you call them the mountain lion is still making great strides in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania is also infested with coyotes, but you don't hear alot about them unless you live in rural populous places. I live in Columbia County and literally came within about 15-20 yards of a pack about a week ago. They didn't want part of myself or my dog and they are on guard to begin with.

Wildcats or cougars are alive and well in pa! My brother has a video of one outside of elizabethtown!!

Bobcats are definitely in Pennsylvania. I’ve seen many in my life in the Pennsylvania wilds, but the only Mountain Lions are the Nittany Lions.

Bobcats? Yes.

Remember one thing, you don’t know everything, even the game commission won’t acknowledge it

I guess you wouldn’t believe coyotes at Ft Indian town gap either! When i figure out how to post a picture on here i will

Coyotes are everywhere, no one is denying them. I have them at my house.

3

jagman69er t1_is77mkt wrote

Then why can’t we have mountain lions?

1

WookieeSteakIsChewie t1_is77zlo wrote

We could but we don't.

3

jagman69er t1_is785tm wrote

But we do!!! Just because you haven’t seen any doesn’t mean they aren’t here!

1

WookieeSteakIsChewie t1_is78gfk wrote

But there aren't. Zero credible evidence of any in the state. For a state with hundreds of thousands of hunters and even more trail cameras, there's no pictures of any.

jagman69er t1_is76mmc wrote

I dint have it now but i did!!! You don’t have to believe me , i know what I saw and i believe my brother! Take from it what you will but don’t be afraid to learn something! It was a couger

Trust me Lancaster County has ALOT around. I lived in Manheim/Mount Joy area most of my life and also spent a lot of time at State Gameland 156. I've seen wildlife. Even saw a bear just out for a leisurely stroll in nearby Middle Creek

Where I live now its not uncommon to see both bear and deer tracks , plus coyotes, foxes are regular visitors....

I live in Lebanon county and have seen a lot of wildlife that isn’t supposed to be here!!! My brother was working at an alpaca farm on colebrook rd. When he saw it while mowing with a tractor

I know what your saying, but mountain lions are actual creatures that people “own” and set loose. There was a female mountain lion running around northern berks for a bunch of years. At the same time there where a pair of emu’s running around the same area. Nothing like seeing a 5ft tall flightless bird running around the woods to scare the crap out of you.

CharacterBrief9121 t1_is6dy7g wrote

Don’t believe the Bigfoot crap but there’s mountain lions/bobcats in north lycoming

WookieeSteakIsChewie t1_is6q8i0 wrote

Mountain lions are very different than bobcats. Bobcats do live in PA. Mountain lions don't.

CharacterBrief9121 t1_is6xe35 wrote

I went ahead and did some research, the mountain lion federation (MLF not Milf) says there are no population known of mountain lions east of the Rockies minus a small endangered pop in Florida. Wildlife informer goes both ways stating there is not any mountain lions in pa but there have been sightings. PSU explicitly says No cougars in PA. I swear I’ve seen the yellow of a mountain lion. I do not believe there is a significant population. In my neck of the woods it’s sparsely populated with a lot of woods and open unused land I’ve seen plenty of bob cats. Only ever thought I’ve seen a mountain lion a few times. They have lived here before and there is a claim that the last one was killed in the late 1800s but how is somebody in 1870-90 going to be able to verify that claim. I think they went the way of the wolf, virtually becoming something different. Like wolf and “eastern coyote” which I know exists I’ve seen it kill family members chickens that roamed their yard.

Farleymcg t1_is6sg4x wrote

The fuck they don’t live here. I saw one bound across a gravel road in pike county and in Sussex county nj. PA is prime mountain lion habitat.

WookieeSteakIsChewie t1_is718ya wrote

Ok. Find me ONE picture of one that can be confirmed to be in PA.

You can't because there aren't any, even though we're covered in game cameras.

fallowcentury t1_is73fnf wrote

I'm with you. it's like, have you been to our woods? I told a ranger two days ago that I got chased for like a quarter mile by a bobcat some years ago. he hadn't heard anything like that before, but it happened to me in black moshannon. so much goes on out here unreported and disbelieved.

Mijbr090490 t1_is7li5p wrote

Yeah and once you spend some time up in those parts, you start to see how a mountain lion or two could roam undetectable for the most part. I saw what I believed to be one almost 20 years ago on Hazard road in Clinton county. There was the carcass of a fawn we saw laying in the road and a tan colored animal with a long, thick tail that went into the woods as we pulled up.

sticky_spiderweb t1_is7mcw0 wrote

Had a mountain lion in my backyard once! To be fair it had escaped from a local zoo but still

2

Mor_Tearach t1_is7y1ir wrote

I don't see why there wouldn't be though. We live in the woods- no, haven't seen one but there's just SO much area where they could live ( and a huge deer population ) it's not an outrageous idea.
