Oz sucks and I'm voting for (and have donated to) Fetterman. But holy shit let's be honest, he's not a good candidate.

Unless they can win the house and Senate and codify Roe, Fetterman will have zero say as a federally elected official as to what PA does under the new law.

Thankfully, a competent candidate is hopefully going to win as governor and Shapiro will be able to block anything otherwise for the next 8 years.

You think Fetterman will? I hope so, but based on his track record I'm not holding my breath.

He's not lying about anything, he's just not competent. I'll be pleasantly surprised if he makes an efficient senator, and hope he does.

Edit: Brave move, replying to me then blocking me for having a different opinion than you, u/PAApprazer.

Well, since I’m a Connor lamb constituent, I know Connor hangs in the very middle. We need more than that.

Say what you will about Oz, he's still a self-made son of immigrants whose accomplishments dwarf Fetterman's in literally every regard.

A self made snake oil salesman who's made his "accomplishments" swindling people based around their health.

I'm not sure that's the compliment you think it is.

No one cares. Oz is a fraud. He's MyPillow guy adjacent. Fetterman is an actual person who has tried to use his position to better hus constituents' lives. Oz peddles bunk pseudo-pharmaceuticals.

Defending Oz is weird AF. He has convinced so many senior citizens to waste their money on heathy sounding nonsense.

And yet, between the pardons and the MMJ listening tour, he's probably the best known lt gov in PA. Who can name another one?

tehmlem t1_irb9z5a wrote

Yeah, probably "The establishment" and not traveling to every county on a listening tour or the thousands of marijuana pardons. Yup, it's all "the establishment" and not doing popular things that give him face time directly with voters. NVM that this is the same "establishment" accused of boosting Joe fucking Biden over progressive candidates, those are not at all completely contradictory actions.

Still a better schedule working in government than Oz has. Lt. Gov is the same as vice president, just in the (comparatively) minor leagues of state government. His job is to be the backup and say the things that Wolf can't say directly.

I did, but at this point in the game the choice is between a quack TV doctor or a disinterested politician who seems to at least have a moral compass even if he's lacking drive.

Thank Golly US Senator is one of the jobs with the least amount of work ever.

During the last 20 years the US Congress can barely pass any bills. They've literally changed the rules over and over to make less and less votes needed to confirm and pass things. It is truly pathetic.

But the fact remains.

Mehmut will vote to take away my daughter's rights and will support Moscow Mitch as leader of the Senate. Then you have the fact that Mehmut lives in NJ and has for the past decade, when he's not at one of his other 8 properties not located in PA during the last decade. Then there's the whole Mehmut being in charge of a program that abused puppies.

I'll take Fetterman when those are the options.

I didn't see it either, but Fetterman did use his time as Lt. Gov to put in serious work with the Parole Board - something previous Lt. Govs have always had the power to do, but nearly none did it.

Yeah like seriously. The point is he isn’t living in the taxpayer funded mansion at the expense of the taxpayer. No one cares about the fact he got his own home from his own family. That’s not what we’re discussing, but the whataboutism crowd can’t help themselves.
