Love the bad faith post from a dude who deep-throats Desantis.

It absolutely is. You don't actually care about the discourse on the topic (which would be self-evident anyway as this is a valueless discussion, as obviously no one wants someone to be debilitated to the point of not being able to work due to a health event).

But your support for an authoritarian shit bird doubly betrays that you just wanted an excuse to attack someone under the pretense of a discussion.

Get fucked

To be fair we just had a guy ask nearly the same question a few days ago, and he turned out to be baiting people into an answer and then telling everyone their answers and opinions were wrong.

So I bet there's a bit of "not again" in people's minds.

deadocmike OP t1_je1d2e7 wrote

I'm sorry. I missed that. Didn't mean to.

I'm not trying to bait them. I realize Oz was a joke. I'm just curious how the people who voted for him feel about him.

Because if it were someone I voted for, I'd still want them replaced.

Why, because he’s been hospitalized? Fetterman isn’t in Dubai smoking crack, he’s getting medical treatment.

Everyone I see talk about it seems to be leaving out the important fact that he is hospitalized. He isn’t just missing duties to fuck around, he’s recuperating and working when he can. It’s excusable in my book.

You notice none of the rhetoric around Fetterman was replicated when McConnell fell? No one is saying that the 81 year old man who just took a concussion and a broken hip should resign or even "just asking questions" about it.

Trout-Population t1_je14lnq wrote

People are allowed to be sick. If it looks like he'll be back to work soon, then I want him to keep his seat. I like Fetterman and want him to be my Senator. If it looks like it'll be a long road to recovery, I want him to step down. His health is more important than trying to do a job that someone else could do just as easily.

That's just a blatant lie.

Your post history doesn't show you as neutral.

RedSunFox t1_je18opt wrote

No, he’s actually factually correct.

https://www.govtrack.us/congress/members/john_fetterman/456877

Presently Fetterman has missed 83% of roll call votes.

−1

bortlip t1_je1ckgm wrote

No, he's not.

From Feb 2023 to Mar 2023, Fetterman missed 54 of 65 roll call votes, which is 83.1%

That is not "of roll call votes in the Senate since he took office."

It's always a lie based on a fact. They take a root fact and twist it and lie to make it worse - even when they wouldn't really need to, like here where he has missed a large percentage. Just not the lie told by OP and being pushed by fox etc.

And it's a lie that "hey, I'm just neutral here". It's the old "I'm just asking questions, I don't have an agenda!" "I'm just stating facts"

It's dishonest BS and should be dismissed and deleted.

What exactly does Congress get done when they are there for roll call? If they vote on party lines, does the house dems need to even show up?

This entire posts seems like gaslighting, specifically because you do not live here.

I’d take six years of him in the hospital over one day of Doctor Oz.

I’m glad he’s getting the help he needs. The Senate doesn’t have much to do as long as the house is deadlocked, so he’s got all the time he needs to get better.

screwycurves t1_je1944n wrote

First, I voted for him. Second, I wish him well. Third, metal illness is illness and shouldn’t be treated any different than McConnell’s concussion. Fourth, if you post negative things about him on this board, you’ll generally get lambasted so don’t expect a lot of people to give different opinions.

It's been 5/6 weeks, his term is 6 years. I don't really see what it matters that he's been out sick for such a small amount of time, when we know exactly why he's been out. I don't see people giving a fuck that McConnell has been out for 3 weeks and counting for his medical issue.

E- Senate term is 6 years, not 4.
