Do you have direct deposit or does it go on the debit card? It won’t be in your bank if it is set up to go on the debit card.

Check your bank, see if they got a test from unemployment to see that your info is correct

Yes, the pastor sends a test deposit to your bank to verify the routing info and account number are valid. Happens every time a new direct deposit is set up

Someone I know had this happen and it went to the debit card even though they put their bank info in. The commonwealth is really dropping the ball on this.

I was thinking the same thing. I read it was like $100 million (or more I forget). It seems like more a lack of agents/workers coupled with cumbersome state law.

Absolutely correct. Before COVID, the rumor was that ABAWDs were coming back for SNAP because our UC % was so low; the state talked about furloughing some of UC examiners (and they hadn’t hired any in awhile)…well then COVID happened and and all hell broke loose…they were working OT and then some, coupled with a severely outdated UC system. Then they “upgraded” the system, and they are still behind. I feel for the UC workers.

ABAWDS? State law says business of a certain size need to contact L&I if they are closing down or doing layoff ahead of time so they can pre approve claims to make this go quicker but it seems like they often don’t do it.

Able Bodies Adults Without Dependents (ABAWDs). For SNAP, if you have no children, you have to do work searches or other employment and training activities unless you have an approved exception. They are a pain in the ass but it is essentially making people do something to get them job ready or work in general to be self sufficient.
