I was just wondering why. Maybe because being a decent person involves giving up some freedom.

Because "The Fonz" was so slight of stature, I always thought his character was somewhat of a put on.

The two aren’t mutually exclusive though. I don’t think you have to give up anything. You can dress any way you want and still be a good person. Just because you may look intimidating to some, doesn’t mean you’re an asshole or someone to be feared.

If you are dressing to be fearful, some people will fear you. Or it can be cosplay like in a gay leather bar.

That says more about the person judging them rather than the other person. I’m pretty sure that dressing up for a night out at a leather bar isn’t what cosplay is. That’s just dressing for the surroundings.
