Anyone else recall having to bring in an old short sleeve shirt of your father’s to wear backwards as an art class painter’s smock?

We used to wear adult sized long sleeved shirts backwards as painting smocks.

Art class as a kid is a great memory for me.

It was the only class I was real good at in elementary school. I could draw really good but not anymore because I didn’t keep up with it.That’s been a whole lot of years.

I was never much of an artist but I enjoyed the process. I recall a friendly man with a mustache leading things in elementary school. In junior high the teacher was a tiny woman with delicate hands who was a ringer for Julie Christie in “Heaven Can Wait”. I thought she was great on that account.

I remember kindergarten in those times, and me and a little boy folding a tablecloth. Field trips to the ice cream factory, bread factory, and cotton fields. Good times.
