The car is cool, but it's really cool to see a Fotomat. I lived at Fotomats!

Nice to see the photo... they were all independent labs. Eastman Kodak (Kodak) did not process consumers photos they were manufacturers of film and photo papers.

I understand they had the digital technology that replace film very early on but were making so much money on film and paper they sat on it. Then, boom... film was no more.

Well, film is still around but there are far more digital phots taken in one day today than in a year before. At virtually no cost.

(I used to be in the photofinishing business)

I had a 1968 850 Spyder. I think this a 1967 model. The '68 had little side marker lights on the front and rear fenders that were not on the '67 and since I don't see the lights here, I conclude '67. If you could see the front it would be easy, the '67 had cool aerodynamic covers over the head lights, whereas the '68 had exposed vertical plain head lights. The side markers and the exposed head light was due to NHTSA regs that went into effect for 1968 and later models.

My mom had a 1972 Pink 850 spider, I was just a little guy but I remember loading up all my friends in it for baseball practice, not all but probably 5 of us, 3 jammed in the back and 2 in the passenger seat. Everyone saw the pink car coming and then a few years later my older brother would drive it to school sometimes, big high school football player rolling up in a pink fiat. Good memories
