Anyone know what’s planned at the vacant lot next to the IDT garage on the corner of Lombardy and Atlantic? They brought an excavator on-site this week and started clearing and grubbing the space. I tried looking around on the City of Newark website but had no luck finding anything! I work in a construction-adjacent field in NYC and am used to looking permits up online there, and was hoping Newark would have a similar system but no-go unfortunately.

Ah, yeah. Newark doesn’t have that. We at least have council agendas and land use meetings online. Not the building permit stuff. Would be nice!

They should. Public info but they absolutely hide it. However you can check the state websites for various actions at addresses.
