Can anyone recommend quality internet service providers for downtown Newark? Trying to set up Verizon 5G but it's pretty terrible (<1MB/s download). Would appreciate any leads

If you're in a building that gets GigXero / Newark Fiber, it would be the best option. Gigibit internet for $50/month. Otherwise, the best option would be Verizon Fios for speed.

Either Verizon or optimum those are the 2 choices you have

No. Verizon 5G was available, which I tried, but it was downloading at 0.8 MB/s. Their customer service was really terrible

Verizon Customer Service is hell but that Fios is amazing. I’m stuck with Optimum on the West Side 🤢

I've used Fios and Optimum gigabit when I lived in the North Ward. Optimum hardware gave me issues, but when I swapped it out for my own modem it worked better. Fios modem/router combo works better and is easier for most.

Fios has been solid for me, and their price gets locked in.

When I used to have optimum cable at my last place the price kept going up every year and fees tacked on so the longer I kept it the more expensive it got and service was not as good but Newark might be better.
