Hi all,

Will be visiting your city soon for the Devils game (don’t worry - I’ll be cheering them on!).

We are all from out of town. 5 of us from Vancouver, Canada and 1 from London, UK. Needless to say - we know next To nothing about Newark.

Any recommendations of spots around Prudential? 2 of us are vegetarian if that matters. The other 4 are definitely not. Aside from food - any can’t miss places to see?

Looking forward to visiting from the pictures it looks like a beautiful city!

A visit to Newark isn’t complete without grabbing some excellent Spanish/Portuguese food in the Ironbound area, highly recommend that although it may not be the best fit for your Vegetarian guests.

Newark art museum, newark public library next door, Halsey st has great food options up and down. These are all in the same area/right next to each other. And the cathedral basilica of the sacred heart is lovely, but probably not worth the short trek out with limited time.

Sounds good. We are staying in Manhattan so I don’t think a day trip in Newark is too out of the way. Sounds like there’s a lot of great spots around

Urban Vegan is a restaurant near the arena that will have options for your friends.

seconding this. urban vegan is awesome, and if anyone in your party doesn't feel like trying anything meatless, the same owner has a restaurant called cornbread two doors down. for sure some of my favorite fried chicken i've ever had (in new jersey at least)!

Tops Diner is probs my favorite diner in the states and would absolutely have options for everyone - especially those of you not even remotely interested in an all-veggie menu

Is the DJ still there everyday? The last 3 times we went, the music was so loud our table was shaking and we couldn’t hear anything lol

Yeah its kind of annoying. They’re trying to go for the club vibes after the remodel. Foods still awesome tho
