I'm a little afraid of heights which is why I prefer my farms to be horizontal thank you very much.

I'm surprised you've never heard of them. Newark has loved to brag about them for the past decade. Also pre-covid they did used to run tours and tastings pretty often. Not sure if any schools took them up on that.

They were in newark news almost every month for a few years.

If you want your food to be farmed in Newark that way I hope you like the taste of heavy metals

This was relatively high profile when they came to the city and started building this. Wondering if they could figure out a way to grow marijuana in there? 🤔 Might be more profitable

It's a closed loop system. It's not irrigating from the Passaic goddamn river.

And the soil a farm would be set on?

I was never exposed to them during my HS years of 2017-2021 but I digress
Cool if they've done stuff then

I'll happily stand corrected then
I guess I should rephrase and say I wish our schools took them up on their tours and reached out

You got me actually laughing now. Okay you didn't read the article. It's an airponics farm where the plants roots are in a mesh inside of a tube.

This is very cool in terms of technology.
I do wish that this company was more active in the community, as this is the first time I've ever heard about them.
It would be great if they did tours for our students, however, I heavily doubt they care.
Corporate contracts, super close proximity to NYC, cheap, formerly industrial land, etc.
Hopefully they pay their rent unlike whole foods.
