Not looking forward to the price increase but happy they’ll be back regardless

Why did they shut down? I never got a chance to taste and when I went (this was like three years ago)to try, and they weren’t there

It burned down.

Kitchen fire. It happened like a few weeks before the pandemic hit and then it took awhile to get things going.
It's totally worth the wait though. Some of the best ramen I've had in the area, and substantially cheaper than other places cause if caters to college students.... im soooo excited

Never got the chance to try it, how did it compare to say ichiran or ippudo in the city. Or miso ramen if anyone has had in jersey city?

Haven’t been to those places, so I can’t comment on how good it is in comparison.
I can say that it was my favorite ramen place in NJ and I went to a handful before/after it burned down. Really good vibe, Boba cafe right next door, prices were affordable, quality was good.

I would say it stacks up extremely well..but the prices gave it the edge. You could get a beef miso ramen with two eggs, corn, crabs, spicy, and like an appetizer for like 24 bucks (including a drink).
It was a super popular place with students, locals, and hell even people who had a layover would stop by on occasions.
They also did pretty good sushi as well.

Don’t know about those spots but I really liked it. Is there any other spot to get Ramen in Newark right now?

There’s yiwan ramen and tea across from NJPAC but it’s overpriced and not great

There used to be another one on bleeker by Rutgers law school that was also pretty great, just more expensive and lacked the customization options of Ramen Gami.
It closed during the pandemic and was replaced by a Korean spot called Toki Toki

Is it any good? I’ve seen it on walks but it hadn’t ever been open. Now I see why. Anyone have an old menu?
