Easy. It wasn't written by anyone in the BB, therefore it is inferior to the rest

Pet Sounds without Pet Sounds. It's a Beach Boys album, not a Wrecking Crew album

I think The Wall would make a great triple album. So much was left out or never fully developed

Goddamn, I love sad songs.
Eels - "Elizabeth on the Bathroom Floor"
The Cranberries - "No Need to Argue"
St. Vincent - "Smoking Section"
Billie Eilish - "when the party's over"
Damien Rice - "Cheers, Darlin'"
Mary Gauthier - "Falling out of Love"
Counting Crows - "Raining in Baltimore"
I could do this all day.

For sure. I think for many bands, their first is the best, and then a huge drop off. Counting Crows held up there for subsequent albums.

Well it's credited as Everything it its right place by Radiohead. But as to who is doing the vocals on that version, no idea.

The song is nothing without the shock value of the video.
The song itself says nothing, the video does all the talking.

Pretty much everything in the early MTV era was very video-driven.

More melancholy than depressing but I’d highly recommend Micah P Hinson - Beneath the Rose

The highly underrated (and now defunct band) Trespassers William and their song “My Hands Up”.
Actually most of their songs have a great melancholy feel. I highly recommend their albums “Having” and “Different Stars”.

I ve to premise , the person is not important to me but the gift is not from only me (it was way easier to write that way) , in the group no one has intention to go listen to that singer and I have a feeling that sending a person alone to a concert isn't a great idea, so you agree on the two ticket thing?

Nah, that’s not how you do it. You tell them you were thinking about taking them to the concert for their birthday, would they like to go? Way less awkward.

Definitely most if not all the songs from August and Everything After by Counting Crows. Even the upbeat stuff like Mr. Jones and Rain King betrays an underlying depression and dissatisfaction with the pain of life. If I had to pick, Raining in Baltimore, Anna Begins, and Round Here always hit me hard.

One of the first industrial songs I heard. In the very early 90s CBC Radio in Canada had a late night show. Host was a guy named David Wisdom. He played a ton of real alternative music. Industrial stuff, electronic, metal, etc. I miss those days of discovery.

Lately I have been listening to her older albums and thinking... People will talk about Lana Del Ray in 40+ years. She will go down in history much like Ella Fitzgerald.

Unless you're a drummer all drum solos get old in about 30 seconds
