Motown, Atlantic Records and Stax all have RnB boxsets that are great intros to wet your whistle and introduce you to a wide arrange of artists you can check out separately afterwards.

Probably. They used to be available on CD but I'm willing to bet they're on Spotify too.

I guess it’s not that new anymore 😬 but it’s still fresh imo. The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. It sounds like exactly what you’re looking for.
For new(er) music, Solange has a doowop influence. The production is very chill and simple but the Melodies and harmonies are beautiful. Check out a seat at the table.

Oh sorry one more song - Lions and Tigers and Bears by Jazmine Sullivan if you like to waltz with your r & b

lol I lied. You should listen to the diary of Alicia keys. I think you’ll like you don’t know my name, but diary is a pretty incredible song as well.

Since you love vocal harmonies then I recommend
Forestella - Save our lives https://youtu.be/97JPv9ni1vw
Forestella - Utopia https://youtu.be/aT2mbsDQwlI
Forestella songs have a lot of vocal harmonies and I love their vocals and songs
Valensia - Gaia https://youtu.be/BC6nUoiFtvM
Gaia sounds interesting and beautiful
