I'm writing my next song "DOWNFALL" for my band Slaves of Sorrow. Anyone got any pointers?

So far, this is what I have:

  1. Hold onto hope, I'm almost home
  2. Gonna be there soon, so just don't call.
  3. Got a lot of cash, so I'm headin' to the nearest Thrift Store
  4. Fillin' up the baskets, Jesus, it feels like basketball.
  5. I get home, I walk through the door,
  6. I see your face is red, oh shit...
  7. HERE COMES THE DOWNFALL
  8. I wake up in my bed one morning.
  9. I'm ready to fight, feels like an Uprising.

Please give me pointers, I'm new to songwriting

You know, my pointer would be “don’t talk about a thing until it’s a thing”. I would work the song out with your band mates first.

You also don’t want to ask people for lyric ideas here because what if this song becomes a hit for you? Couldn’t someone here argue they co-wrote the song and demand royalties?
