Who did you expect to guest on an album with a 77 year old woman?

Paul McCartmey, Stevie Nicks, John Fogerty…….

If you're inviting Robert and Jimmy give 'ol JP a call too, Dolly.

Keeping fingers crossed on that myself

In other words, it’s old-time rock and roll.

I didn't see Bob Seger on that list....

No, but he'll love it though. It may even soothe his soul.

You don’t have to. All of the other people mentioned are well into their 70s.

I hope Miley Cyrus is on it, her live covers of Rock and Roll songs have been killer.
oliverkloezoff t1_j52y8z6 wrote
Yes, yes they have been killer. She needs to do a rock album, hard rock.
And Dolly's doing one now! I love Dolly.
acute_elbows t1_j52zkf4 wrote
I’m not a huge fan of her original music, but her talent is undeniable. I also have to remind myself that Miley is still pretty young. She’s been in the business for a while but started at 14. She seems to be maturing in a healthy way while still staying artistically relevant. I suspect I will enjoy her music more and more as she ages.
oliverkloezoff t1_j532017 wrote
Yes, exactly. Not a fan of her early songs either, but with the covers she's been doing lately she caught my eye. Heart of Glass, w/Metallica, w/David Byrne doing Bowie and especially this one:
Zombie, blew my mind.
^sorry ^Dolly
acute_elbows t1_j53u76f wrote
Yeah that Zombie one was great. I also liked the Flaming Lips one. Dolly is her godmother, I’m sure she’s okay sharing the spotlight

Jesus, she could put a call out and I bet EVERYONE would want to collaborate on that album.

“Excuse me sir.” “What is it Roland?” “I have a call from America, sir. A request to join Sir Robert and Sir John to record a song together.” “Bloody hell! I told you Roland, don’t bring that rubbish to me.” “But sir?” “What Roland!” “The request came from Dolly Parton.” “Her people called?” “No sir, Ms. Parton herself. She seems quite persistent.” A silent pause went through the Page study. Photographs of days gone by seem to turn their gaze to the septuagenarian guitarist. He looks down on his hands. Without telling them to move, the fingers start to exercise the same way they have for the past sixty plus years. They are telling him…one more. “Call Dolly back. No wait, I’ll call her. I’m in.”
