Because Ticketmaster (through Live Nation) has exclusive contracts with every major concert venue in North America that they and only they can sell tickets to concerts in those venues.
So if you want to do an arena show, you MUST let Ticketmaster sell your tickets.
And that means that no matter how shitty Ticketmaster service is, and no matter how much they gouge you for tickets, they're still the only game in town - it's literally impossible to compete.
Also, for things like those "platinum" tickets, the artist (or since it's KPOP, their label) gets most of that money. Part of the Ticketmaster model is that they allow artists to charge more for tickets by dressing up the increase as "Ticketmaster bullshit" so they absorb the blame and the artist's reputation doesn't take the hit.

Nailed it. If an artist wants to keep prices low, and not have Platinum, they can. And some do. But most need the revenue, and know that Ticketmaster is there to take the blame. It's their accepted position in the game.

Yes. I know what platinum pricing is.
The ticket seller and the artist split the mark up. That's not an assumption or a guess or speculation, it's written up in the contracts.
