I’d like to listen to one album a week in 2023. I have had a quick look and I can’t find a definitive list of must listen-tos.
Has anyone got any suggestions? I am open to both old and contemporary music, from pretty much any genre.
I’d like to listen to well known classics, and some lesser known stuff as well.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Well yeah, that's the thing about tastes. Everyone's are different.
It's not hard to find lists of favorite artists. Why not do a little research, discover which ones you like?
For instance, everyone would tell you Sonic Youth's Daydream Nation is the one to listen to. But I'd tell you Sister, or The Eternal.
There is no definitive list. It's subjective. Find your own way.

Different Class is such a great album. Mile End, Common People, Something Changed, Disco 2000 are favorites and there’s not a bad song on the album.
I discovered Pulp through the Trainspotting soundtrack.
I tried to pull stuff from all sorts of genres, while limiting myself to ten albums.
I figure if anyone can make the jump from 1 to 2 the rest should be easy lol

I highly recommend Trench. The production is great and it somewhat tells a story (along with other albums by the band). The song Neon Gravestones is particularly meaningful.
