I'll be honest I'm new to Reddit only had it for 2 days, and it's also is a discussion I want to hear people's thoughts on with Pixies and Nirvana , I was even thinking of adding The Breeders to the discussion, but even though their amazing their kind of a spinoff band like the foo fighters, also my self pr0mo has been pretty terrible so far so, I don't really know about all that, would actually like some pointers on it from anyone who's in the know.

The last splash crew seem like the definitive breeders line-up to me even though POD was the better album, be class to see them live even nowadays, consider yourself lucky on that, quality.

It's probably my favourite of theirs. They were a big part of my twenties. I never cared for Nirvana but they were an important band for lots of reasons. Soundgarden were my guys and their music sounds as good now as it did back then. RIP Kurt and Chris ❤️

Yeah I was born in 88 but listened to them throughout my 20's two, my faves are probs bone Machine , break my body, river Euphrates, ed is dead and debaser, and fave Soundgarden probs , fell on black days, today I tried to live and black hole sun. Love aneurysm and territorial & drain you by Nirvana.

I was full on Kevin’s mom too, but couldn’t help but love nirvana. Weird to compare pixies and nirvana and even soundgarden, at the time they seemed so completely different from each other.

I think of the Pixies as an indie band and always will.

Maybe Soundgarden's alot different but the quiet loud quiet format used by Pixies and then Nirvana plus the screaming with wild animalistic abandon, how can you not compare, especially when Kurt said he was basically just ripping off the Pixies and even sort out Steve albini for his last major studio record.

What a great decade to be 18, I'd trade that any day of the week.

The Pixies? Are you kidding me? They aren’t grunge and never were. They’re more a pop and alt rock band than anything. Nirvana and The Pixies aren’t in the same place

Maybe not grunge I consider both bands punk rock though.
