Hi everyone,
My name’s Dermot Kennedy and I’m an Irish singer/songwriter who started off busking in the streets of Dublin over 10 years ago. I’m constantly influenced by so many different kinds of music, from Bon Iver to Drake and Taylor Swift (you may have recently come across my cover of ‘Anti-Hero’ on this very channel). When I’m not on stage, you’ll always find me with a book in hand, hitting up a coffee shop or watching/playing sports (I’m a Manchester United fan, don’t judge me).
My second studio album 'Sonder' is out now, and it revolves around the realisation that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own. I am very proud of it and hope more than anything that there’s something you can connect with in these songs. I can’t wait to play them for you live on the ‘Sonder’ tour next year and can’t believe I’m headlining Madison Square Garden! Hope to see you at a show or surprise busk soon!
